Melodize is a music composition platform that runs via crowd sourcing
Visit the site at: melodize.github.io
Melodize accommodate lyricists who need composition work done on their song lyrics, and people who wish to experience composing in a casual context. The small amount of composition work done by each user is compiled onto the lyrics and creates a completed song.
My responsibilities were wire framing the prototype, marketing (demo film), and designing the workflow for both users of the lyric input function, and users of the composition function.
We give the user several ways to describe the song they want, in terms of tone, mood, etc. The user also has the option of uploading their album cover along with their lyrics.
BROWSING AVAILABLE SONGS
All submitted lyrics can be seen when browsing the available songs currently being composed. A preview of the lyrics, and the setting given by the lyricist is also available for preview. There is also a comment function added.
Once the user chooses a song to compose on, the site gives them a section of the lyrics and the composer inputs and submits their notes. The final notes are decided based on the submissions of many composers.
The lyricist is able to see the progress of the composition on their songs in real time, and all completed songs are available for viewing in the 'Gallery' tab
